Strings Amarta is one of Hong Kong’s leading featured performance providers in event entertainment. With a collective of Hong Kong’s most in-demand musicians, music arrangers, composers and producers, the team has been astounding audiences across Hong Kong since 2014 with their unique renditions of all the greatest classical, jazz and pop music pieces.

Strings Amarta has made appearances all around the city, including METRO – “Prime Awards For Brand Excellence”, Shatin New Town Plaza – “Music Geographic”, “Music in Town”, PMQ – “Play me I’m Yours”, K11 – “Supernova Stage”, UBS – “Hacken on stage with UBS”, CUHK – “MBA 50th Anniversary Annual Dinner”, 1881 Heritage – “Springtime with Love”, Harbor City – “Bubble up”, among others.

Last year, the team also performed for the Goethe Institute receiving a tremendous applause from the audience.

 

Law Wai Ting, Jonathan has pursued an extensive career as a solo violinist, pianist and chamber musician. At the age of 13, he performed at the New York Carnegie Hall as a soloist after capturing the second prize at the Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Piano Competition. In 2013, he was awarded the second prize at the International Deutscher Irmler-Klavierwettbewerb Piano Competition. He was later the runner-up of the Student of the Year – Performing Artist Award presented by the South China Morning Post. He won the first prize at the Princess Galyani Vadhana International Competition (Piano Trio) in Bangkok, being the first Hong Kong chamber group to achieve this award.

Yim Sau Chun, Jennifer began her music journey at the age of 4 learning piano with her father. She also studied violin under Mr Lo Chu-Tung, Mr Cheng Yat-Wah and Mr Fan Ting during her studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She now receives lessons in violin and viola from Mr Danny Wong, and vocal training from Miss Ivy Wong. During her secondary school years, Jennifer sang in various choirs such as the Learners Chorus and the Hong Kong Young People’s Chorus, in which she was inspired to be a versatile musician. Since then, she has performed extensively in many concerts, musical performances and dramas in Hong Kong.

Ng Chi Yiu, Edmund graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Music in 2016 under the tutelage of violinist Mr. Anders Hui. He has worked with many orchestras, including the Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Collegium Musicum, the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Festival Orchestra, the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Junior Symphony Orchestra and the Global Symphony Orchestra. Throughout his orchestral experience, he has collaborated with many world-renowned artists, including Valentina Lisita, Lam Fung, Colleen Lee, Dan Zhu, Simone Lamsma, among others. He is also an active performer in chamber music, including piano trios, string quartets, quintets and various chamber groups.

Fong Ho Man, Jonathan is a year 3 music student at the Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in cello with Chen Yi Chun. He has joined many competitions to keep improving himself, winning the first prize at two music festivals. He has taken part in many orchestral performances and has already played in several countries like Germany, Austria and the United State. In 2016, he was selected as a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra for an Asia tour, which allowed him to work with important maestros and teachers. He is currently a member and principal cellist of both the Hong Kong Baptist University Orchestra and the Collegium Musicum Hong Kong.
