Pietro Bonfilio was born in Scansano, a small village of Tuscany (Italy), in 1990.

He graduated at “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and completed a Master’s degree in Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During his studies he had the chance to refine his music skills with several renowned musicians such as Michele Campanella, Victor Sangiorgio, Jean‐Marc Luisada, Vincenzo Balzani, Giuseppe Andaloro and Lang Lang.

Maestro Bonfilio regularly performs in Italy and abroad. He held concerts in the USA (Carnegie Hall in New York, NYU and Cornell University in Ithaca), London (Pushkin House), in various cities of Sweden, Scotland (Stevenson Hall and in the Royal Concert Hall of Glasgow), Romania (Neamt Piano Festival), Luxembourg, Mexico (Centro Cultural Bicentenario in Mexico City), Cambodia (Phnom Penh Piano Festival Meta House), Thailand (Bangkok Piano Festival, Siam Ratchada Auditorium), Turkey (Milli Reasurans Hall).

He has frequently played in Milan, most notably at Teatro alla Scala, in the Salone Napoleonico of Palazzo Serbelloni, in the Royal Palace, in the Puccini Hall and Verdi Hall, in the great hall of Casa Verdi, in Villa Litta Borromeo Visconti for Società Umanitaria, in the Gaber Hall for the Società dei Concerti, as well as in various other Italian cities, in particular in Florence’s Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio, at Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice, in Naples at Villa Pignatelli-Rothschild and at Teatro Civico in Como.

He has performed as a soloist with Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg Philarmonia, Philharmonic Orchestra “Mihail Jora” Bacau, Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, Reggio Calabria “Francesco Cilea” Orchestra, Milli Reasurans Orchestra Istanbul.

Maestro Bonfilio won several competitions such as the XXV Ibla Grand Prize, the XII edition of the International competition Monterosa Kaway, the XX edition of the competition Riviera della Versilia held in Viareggio, the II edition of the competition Agimus held in Florence, the XI edition of the national competition Riviera Etrusca held in Livorno, the V edition of the competition Lissonum Young Performers held in Milan, the IX edition of the International competition New Horizons held in Arezzo.

In 2014 he was awarded by the International Association of Richard Wagner and had the chance to attend the Richard Wagner Bayreuth Festival.

He has been interviewed by RAI TV News (TG1) and the most important Italian newspapers and music magazines like Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, La Nazione, Amadeus and Suonare News have given him glowing reviews. He played live several times for the National Service Radio Rai 3 and Radio Classica.

In 2017 he released a CD for the Dutch label Brilliant Classics dedicated to the Russian composer Dimitri Kabalevsky.
