Everyday Life in Pompeii : A Focus on Art and Architecture (in English)

Lecture by Prof. Ulf Schulte-Umberg in the context of the ongoing exhibition “Mare Nostrum: Roman Navy and Pompeii” at the Hong Kong Museum of History.

Mr Ulf Schulte-Umberg is lecturer at the ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and visiting professor at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He teaches architecture of the ancient world through middle ages, renaissance and baroque. His main field of research is early medieval architecture in southern Italy, for which he was granted a scholarship by the Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome. He spent many years living in Naples and Rome, and he is a licensed tourist guide in Italy. Ulf has a long experience in explaining history of art and architecture to both specialists and the general public.
