Effedia – Sulla mia cattiva strada: Fabrizio De André racconta Fabrizio De André is a 2008 compilation by renowned Italian singer/songwriter Fabrizio De André. The compilation consists of two CDs with a selection of songs recorded between 1959 and 1998, and a DVD featuring a documentary about De André’s life and works. The word “Effedia” comes from the Italian pronunciation of the initials of De André’s name (Fabrizio De André).
The first biographical documentary of Fabrizio De André is produced by Dori Ghezzi and directed by Teresa Marchesi. Through songs, vintage video clips, archive interviews and a long story told by the singer himself, the movie traces the artistic, moral and political world of the artist, his formation and maturity. The documentary features excerpts from the songs included in the compilation – Dolcenera, La canzone di Marinella, La guerra di Piero, Bocca di rosa, Don Raffaè and many more -, as well as interviews to De André and other people related to the artist and his music (Mina, Franco Battiato, Luigi Tenco, Sergio Castellitto, Gabriele Salvadores and others).
The screening will be preceded by a short introductory lecture by Hong Kong based Dr. Francesco Vitali who will give a taste of Fabrizio De André songs, anecdotes and life through some pictures and videos. Mr. Vitali is not only a huge fan of the singer, but he is also working as Senior Tax Manager with the Italian desk of Deloitte Asia Pacific International, providing assistance and tax planning services both for Italian companies that have an interest in investing in Asia and for Asian companies that have an interest in investing in Italy.
