Cine Italiano – Cinema Italian Style in Hong Kong

After the successful launch of Cine Italiano! last September, the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society has again teamed up with Zetema
Progetto Cultura of Rome, Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Consulate General of
Italy in Hong Kong and Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong for an
encore edition of this event in 2013. The interaction between China and
Italy continues to be on the agenda in this year’s Opening Film
Something Good, a crime thriller set in Hong Kong about adulterated
food, directed by and starring Italian filmmaker Luca Barbareschi,
co-starring China’s Zhang Jingchu. Other films include romantic comedy
Every Blessed Day; Long Live Freedom and The Commander and the Stork
look at the lighter side of society and politics. A Five Star Life and
Spaghetti Story are two slices of Italian life. Women Drive Me Crazy and
See You Tomorrow are in the tradition of the great Italian farce. We
hope to give our audiences a glimpse of a cinematic landscape as diverse
as Italy’s culture and food.
