Italian Cultural Institute is happy to support this year’s Hong Kong International Literary Festival (HKILF). HKILF presents a week-long annual Literary Festival that takes place across a range of venues in our beloved city. The festival hosts prominent and emerging writers and aim to feature an exciting mix of literary fiction, non-fiction and poetry in various languages. The varied and vibrant public programme of talks, panel discussions, readings, book launches, signings, workshops and other literary experiences brings together readers and writers of all ages to inspire the joy of reading.

This year, Italian author-illustrator Beatrice Alemagna will be one of the international speakers for the programme.

WORKSHOP | Drawing the Literary World

Join acclaimed artists Guy Delisle and Beatrice Alemagna for a special double-bill event celebrating illustration as storytelling. In this 90-minute program, each artist takes the stage in turn, beginning with a live drawing demonstration that reveals their creative process in real time, followed by a short onstage conversation introducing their work and influences. Delisle, internationally known for his graphic memoirs and travel narratives, explores how observation and place shape story. Alemagna, one of Europe’s most celebrated illustrators, shares her distinctive visual language rooted in emotion, imagination, and lived experience. Together, these two consecutive sessions offer rare insight into contemporary illustration across cultures.
