Austrian-HongKong Composers connection
Ensemble for Contemporary Music
The Austrian-HongKong Composers connection has been developed to simply bring together young emerging composers and musicians from Europe and Asia to perform together. Its’ sole purpose is to network and share music, artworks, ideas, experiences and resources among each other and to raise the audience’s interest in contemporary music and culture.The motivation and the enthusiasm of former projects and concerts led to the idea of the development of a composers connection and a further exchange program. It’s purpose is to organize concerts, performances, workshops and presentations of artworks of a large variety and gives musicians and composers the opportunity to share their creative work.
Comprised mainly of graduates of the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie, the members of the Chromoson ensemble are all performers of exceptional talents and skills with ample experience in new music interpretation. Thanks to the Inter-Tertiary Young Composers Platform organized by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild in 2012, local students composers have had the invaluable opportunity to work with the flutist Carolin Ralser of Chromoson in an ensemble setting. Her remarkable interpretative capabilities, attention to details, her excellent mastery of extended techniques and ability to sublime techniques into heartfelt music have made a lasting impression among the participants and audience alike. The ensemble’s formidable skills, passion as well as dedication to new music performance have made it a dream ensemble to work with for any aspiring composer. In this connection, this proposal is put forward in hopes of creating a chamber music concert for Chromoson, which will give the world or Asian premiere of six works of various instrumentations by three local composers and three Austrian composers.Concert Programme
