This year, the European Union Film Festival (EUFF 2022) has the pleasure to present a selection of 18 European films which have never been screened in Hong Kong before. They were chosen carefully with the Consulates-General and Cultural Institutes of the European Union to showcase their countries’ passion and talent in film making. This selection offers a wide variety of genres, which include comedy, thrillers and drama.

Synopsis:
The sequel to the blockbuster comedy Like a Cat on a Highway (2017) sees the return of Paola Cortellesi and Antonio Albanese, two of Italy’s best-known and most beloved comedy actors, as foul-mouthed Monica and radical chic intellectual Giovanni, three years after the end of their love story. When Monica ends up in jail because of a crime committed by her stepsister twins, she calls her ex Giovanni for help. Thus, the former flames’ lives are intertwined again, and soon they fall in love. Seeking to reveal their relationship to their families, they organise a beachside lunch and invite everyone. It is the perfect setting for the unthinkable to happen.
