Emanuele, Stefano, Alberto and Davide (Mascoulisse Quartet) have  all graduated with honors in trombone and have a vast orchestral experience, performing regularly in some of the most prestigious theaters with conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda, Fabio Luisi, Ennio Morricone, Andrej Boreyko, Wayne Marshall and Yury Temirkanov. Over the years, the Quartet has taken part in over 400 important concerts and festivals throughout Italy, Europe and the United States, constantly presenting innovative and fresh programs, such as concerts in quartet, trio and octet formation with a touch of electronic music. Embracing also pop music, they have worked with Giovanni Allevi, Lucio Dalla, Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli, MODA, Zucchero, Fedez, J-Ax and Jovanotti and recorded for Sony and EMI classica. The Mascoulisse Quartet has also recorded six albums with which they have won numerous awards. 

 

Stefano Belotti

Stefano Belotti studied at Luca Marenzio Conservatory (Brescia) graduating with full marks and honours in 2009. In 2016 he premiered Trissirt for Trombone Quartet and Orchestra composed by Piergiorgio Ratti at Teatro Sociale of Sondrio to critical acclaim. In 2017 he followed this up by performing the Double Concerto for Bass Trombone and Clarinet by Sonja Grossner for the first time in Italy accompanied by Orchestra I Solisti Veneti directed by Claudio Scimone. Stefano is also dedicated to supporting young students and professionals and giving them the opportunity to connect with many of the world’s leading names. It is this dedication that led him to founding the Masterbrass Festival. Stefano is a “Yamaha Artist” playing the Xeno Bass Trombone YBL-822.

 

Davide Biglieni

Davide graduated in 2008 from Gaetano Donizetti Conservatory (Bergamo) under the guidance of Maestro Ermes Giussani perfecting his studies with Ian Bousfiel, Stefan Schulz, Andrea Conti, Andrea Bandini, Joseph Alessi, Gianluca Gagliardi, Daniele Morandini and Vincent Lepape. He was admitted as orchestra trombone to the Orchestra Sinfonica di Savona, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana and Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala di Milano. He regularly performs as soloist and holds masterclasses around the world with the Masterbrass Academy.

 

Alberto Pedretti

Alberto began his studies at the age of 14 graduating in 2005 from L. Marenzio Conservatory (Brescia) and at the HKB of Bern with Ian Boufield. He studied with Christian Lindberg, Joseph Alessi, Charles Vernon, Andrea Bandini, Eitan Bezalel, Michel Becquet, Jorgen van Rijen and Steven Mead. He won numerous awards, among which 1st prize at the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe in 2000. He plays with the Orchestra of Arena di Verona, Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino, Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento.

 

Emanuele Quaranta

Emanuele started playing the trombone at the age of 14 at Luca Marenzio Conservatory (Brescia) graduating with full marks and honours in 2009. He further studied with Christian Lindberg, Michel Becquet, Joseph Alessi, Vincent Lapape, Daniele Morandini, Bruno Flahou, Jorgen Van Rijen, Fred Mills, Ronald Romm e Pierre Volders. In 2010 he was admitted to the CNR of Paris where he studies for 2 years with Jaques Mauger (first trombone of the Opera de Paris), David Maqued (trombone of Radio France) and with Jean Jacques Herbin.

 

PROGRAMME – “ONDE ANTICHE E MODERNE”:

The Quartet will take the Asian audience through a special musical journey – with music ranging from the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo periods to avant-guard pieces – that reflects our every-day minds, in the same ways as we often look back to the past and dream the future – as waves washing the sea shores.
