Hong Kong Salento International Film Festival 2006 – 5th Edition

The Hong Kong Salento International Film Festival in its 5th year, from Wednesday May 11 through Sunday May 15, will bring a selection of the best of the Salento International Film Festival 2015. An eclectic selection of independent films from all over the world to be screened in one of the coolest venues in Hong Kong.The Hong Kong 2016 film selection includes: “Let’s Go To That Country”, Italian comic duo Salvatore Ficarra and Valentino Picone direct and star in their latest award-winning film; “John of God” the first film written and produced in Congo by a Congolese director, about an artist who sees himself as the world’s greatest musician… in his own mind of course, directed by Sele M’Poke; the first ever film made in Faroe island, “Ludo”, an intense psychological drama about an 11-year-old girl caught between her mother’s dark and unstable mind and her father’s well-meaning passiveness, directed by Katrin Ottarsdóttir; the Best Asian Film at the 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival, the Filippino movie, “The Coffin Maker” by Paul Laxamana, an heartbreaking story follows a father’s struggle to redeem not only his child’s death with a decent burial, but his own guilt and responsibility. The German drama directed by Maria Hengge, “Sin & Illy Still Alive”, a dark, highly realistic film, magnificently acted by Ceci Chuh (Sin), a true story about 2 drug addict friends. From India, directed by Krishan Hooda, “Rebellious Flower”, the first biopic inspired by the life and vision of Osho Rajineesh, reliving a journey of unique quest beyond mith and belief… The program also includes three Asian short- films. From Hong Kong “The Sea Within” directed by Wai Nap Wong, a story based on the real-life experience of his parents; from China, “Cloud & Mud”, the contest between good and evil directed by Acheng Dong and from South Korea “The Loyalist”: A North Korean general checks in on his daughter at a Swiss boarding school to test her loyalty to her motherland, directed by Minji Kang.FURTHER INFORMATION AT:  http://tinyurl.com/h59rbaeTicketing InformationTickets available now!
