On the occasion of Italian Design Day 2020, Mr.Lawrence studio presents “Design Made in Hong Kong 2020-2021”, curated by Annalisa Rosso on the initiative of Stefano Fossati, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Hong Kong in collaboration with NMG – 5VIE Association. This project – involving designers, schools, and companies – aims to trigger a profitable exchange in terms of creativity, education and communication to demonstrate how, from Hong Kong to Milan, a new generation of designers is taking action.

Through a webinar program, “Design Made in Hong Kong 2020-2021” established an in-depth collaboration between 3 Hong Kong schools and 3 Italian emerging designers: Hong Kong Baptist University with Sara Ricciardi, Hong Kong Design Institute with Federico Peri, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University – School of Design with Federica Biasi. After that, the projects developed by the schools will be exhibited at SIAM 1838 academy and Post Design gallery, on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021.

This project has being developed in collaboration with internationally recognised companies and galleries such as Post Design Gallery, Bamboo International (Group) Co. Ltd., TCL Multimedia Technology Holding Ltd and The Hong Kong Furniture and Decoration Association.

Business of Design Week (BoDW) – 30 November – 5 December 2020

Business of Design Week (BODW) is an annual week-long design event organised every December by the Hong Kong Design Centre. BODW was launched in 2002. It includes a design conference, forums, seminars, exhibitions and award presentations. BODW annually invites designers, business leaders and educators to speak and share their opinions in various forums.

BODW 2020 (themed on VISION 20/21) is a flagship hybrid event in Asia for design, brands and innovation and brings together visionaries and creative leaders across sectors and industries from around the world to offer a glimpse of the ‘new normal’.

In an era calling for collaborative creativity, diversity and sustainable and inclusive growth, they will share their ideas in a series of engaging hybrid LIVE high-level forums and discussions.
