Italian Comics – Meeting the Artist: Ilaria Palleschi

On the occasion of the XX Week of the Italian Language in the World, themed: Italian between word and image: graffiti, illustrations, comic books (October 19-25, 2020), the Dante Alighieri Society will host a live video-interview with Ms. Ilaria Palleschi.

Ms. Ilaria Palleschi is a young, talented comics illustrator and comic book artist. Her first acclaimed graphic novel is “Nina che disagio“, published by Bao Publishing.

This is a great opportunity to learn from her first-hand experience how graphic novel are born, how to create unforgettable characters, how to draw and how to write comics.

 

About the artist:

Ilaria Palleschi was born in 1989. After high school, she moved to Rome and attended IED (European Institute of Design), where she studied Illustration and Animation. Trained as an illustrator, but with the dream of making comics, in November 2018 she published her first graphic novel as the sole author for Bao Publishing: “Nina che disagio”.

She works for various publishing houses (such as Giunti, Treccani, il Castoro, Mondadori) and makes her dual nature (cartoonist / illustrator) her peculiarity, as in her latest work: The Impossible Cases of Zoe & Lu (the new series by Licia Troisi published by Mondadori).

She currently lives in a small village with her dog Bresaola, continuing her freelance work and writing new stories.
