The European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, the Consulates General of the EU Member States & Switzerland will hold the European Union Film Festival 2019 Opening and the premiere of Champions on Thursday, 21st of February 2019 from 7:00 pm.
Champions (Spain, 2018) is a light-hearted film by Javier Fesser that topped the Spanish box office and won 11 nominations in the Spanish Goya Awards. The film tells the story of basketball coach Marco, who has problems with almost everything in his life. Marco is sentenced to community service and has to coach a special basketball team made up of intellectually disabled people. To his surprise, he will be the one who learns the most from their lust for life and their understanding of what is really important.
