Artist Documentary Series: FAME screening - PAID EVENT

Artist Documentary Series: FAME screening - PAID EVENT

PAID ticket registration:

Fame is a film about the last moments of unpredictability and vandalism in what was once covert artistic activity before it was turned into sanctioned "street art". For five years, Angelo Milano was able to bring artists from all over the world to his southern Italian village, Grottaglie, including Blu, JR, Conor Harrington, Os Gemeos, Momo, Swoon, Vhils, and others, who were only praised and accepted by the world of contemporary art in the following years. The artists, captivated by Angelo's mother's kitchen and the concept of Mediterranean anarchy, went back to Grottaglie year after year to create artistic interventions that changed the city's image for its inhabitants and beyond. This public art-making festival known as "Fame" was stopped by its creator Angelo just as it was reaching the height of success. As street art became accepted and demanded everywhere, for some, it began to lose its lustre.
