The European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, Consulates General of the EU Member States & Switzerland and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will held the European Union Film Music Gala Concert and the premiere of “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki” on Wednesday, 8th of February 2017 at 7:00 pm.
The European Union Gala Concert is a musical celebration of European films. The Hong Kong Stringers Orchestra together with the famous Italian conductor Simone Tonin will dazzle film fans and music aficionados with scores of timeless European films accompanied by a projection of their most memorable scenes.
The concert will be followed by a reception and the screening of the opening film of the European Union Film Festival “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki” (Finland, 2016); Director: Juho Kuosmanen; Cast: Oona Airola, Eero Milonoff, Joonas Saartamo; Awards: Cannes Film Festival – Un Certain Regard Award, Chicago International Film Festival – New Directors Competition, European Film Awards – European Discovery of the Year, Zurich Film Festival – Best International Feature Film.
