Yuri Ancarani: The Sublime of the Real, a retrospective of the prominent Italian video artist and filmmaker celebrated for blending documentary realism with the aesthetics of contemporary art, curated by Alberto Gerosa Volontè and supported by the Italian Cultural Institute Hong Kong.
This retrospective aims at showcasing excellence in Italian videoart to the Hong Kong and Macau audiences. A series of screenings will introduce local audiences to Ancarani’s Venice awarded ATLANTIDE (2021) and the RICORDI PER MODERNI (2009) videoart series. Moreover, a permanent installation at thy lane museum will celebrate the entirety of Ancarani’s poster and graphic design outputs with a series of large A0 format prints that will be visible in the long term for the whole community in an outdoor prominent venue.
