Leonidas Kavakosis an artist of rare quality. Renowned for his virtuosity, musicianship, and
the integrity of his playing, international recognition came early when he won
the Sibelius Competition at 18 and the Paganini Competition three years later.
Long a sought after soloist with the world’s great orchestras, Kavakos was
honoured by the Berlin Philharmonic as its Artist in Residence for the 2012 /
2013 season.
His distinguished discography includes award winning
recordings of Mozart, Mendelssohn and Sibelius concertos. More recently his
recording of the complete Beethoven violin sonatas with Hong
Kong concert partner, Enrico Pace, himself a renowned pianist, was
described by The Strad as ‘masterly’. Don’t miss the chance to hear the
dazzling Kavakos and his favoured chamber music partner playing repertoire of
which they are masters.
Leonidas Kavakos plays the “Abergavenny”
Stradivarius of 1724.
