Yan Gallery, is delighted to announce its forthcoming exhibition entitled ‘Hong Kong Hong Kong’, which will feature a collection of mixed
media on canvas paintings by the Italian artist Francesco Lietti and a collection of elegant, contemporary jewellery created by Italian designer, Andrea Filippi.Both
Francesco and Andrea have been greatly inspired by Hong Kong, not only
by the scenery of this vibrant eclectic city, but also by the sites,
sounds and sensations experienced while living here.Although
Francesco loves to travel and has painted scenes from all over Asia, for
this collection of work he has concentrated exclusively on what he
loves best; the Hong Kong harbour skyline. A master of vibrant,
vivacious colours, Lietti paints these harbour scenes in hues of bright
greens, dazzling reds, and vibrant oranges. As a trained architect,
Lietti has a passion for buildings, which is clearly evident from his
paintings. But it is the combination of water, buildings and rolling
hills in the background that the artist never tires of. The tall,
angular buildings are reflected in the blue sea and contrast starkly
with the lush green undulations of The Peak. Memory and fantasy blur
into one, allowing the viewer to feast their eyes on a recognizable
scene, but also giving room for their own fantasies and reflections.Francesco
was born in Lecco, on the southern shore of Lake Como in Italy. He
studied architecture in Milan and furthered his studies in Paris at the
École des Beaux Arts, La Seine and also at the Clerkenwell College of
Printing in London. His works are featured in private collections
worldwideAndrea Filippi has been living in Hong Kong since 2000
and brings to his work a huge sense of passion, dedication and
creativity. His jewellery is a combination of tradition and modernity
that offers a complete experience behind the products themselves. Using
high quality materials such as 18k gold, diamonds and gem stones
Filippi designs beautiful, sophisticated jewellery with elegant lines
and harmonious contours. His attention to detail and creative
dexterity will thrill any connoisseur of fine jewellery.Andrea
Filippi was born in Vicenza, the Italian city of gold and leather. He
graduated in Engineering and has been working in the watch and jewellery
business for many years for leading brand names, designing and
developing pieces displayed around the world. This is his first show to
exhibit jewellery under his own name and we are delighted to be holding
