HKWALLS Street Art Festival will return for its 10th edition from 22 to 30 March 2025. International and local artists will paint murals across the Central and Western District, as well as display their digital artworks on LED screens all over Hong Kong.

Over the 9-day festival, HKWALLS will host multiple programming opportunities at the so-called “festival hub” at PMQ and around town, including a new exhibition initiative, HKWALLS ROOMS, that shines a light on other galleries and artists along with the mural artists. The festival will also round off its program with a variety of other events like special screenings, panels, parties, guided tours, and workshops.

This year, Italian artist El Rughi will participate in HKWALLS and share his art with us!

About HKWALLS

HKWalls is an art organisation that aims to create opportunities for local and international artists to showcase their talent in Hong Kong and internationally through the mediums of street art and street culture. They celebrate creativity, originality and freedom of expression, actively working on connecting and building relationships with artists, the community and organisations worldwide through high-quality public art, while making the creative process accessible to all.

HKWalls holds an annual street art festival during Hong Kong’s art month each March, as well as year-round programming that focuses on artists’ career development and raising awareness through the arts.

About El Rughi

El Rughi was born in a city in the South of Italy, Martina Franca. He began to paint everything he had near him since his childhood, so as that he could kill boredom. He travelled around Italy, Spain and Germany, experimenting techniques and forms until he found his own artistic style. He therefore mixes the classic graffiti with children illustration, tattoo and comic language. He is currently living in three different places: London, Barcelona and Italy, and apart from painting walls, he works on tattoo, serigraphy and self-production of fanzines about street-art, illustration and underground comics.
