Dantedì 2021 – Dante Alighieri’s Day 2021

A few days ago La Rossignol has recorded, in collaboration with the Association Amici della musica “V. Cocito” of Novara, the video of L’AMOR CHE MOVE IL SOLE E L’ALTRE STELLE, their programme dedicated to Dante’s centenary.

They have published an excerpt of it on their YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/kBUBfKrV3-Q

Although partial, it gives an idea of their work and their contribution to Dante 2021.

A longer version will be available for three days, starting on 25 March, on the a-novara YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/NbW94NfMTYs

L’AMOR CHE MOVE IL SOLE E L’ALTRE STELLE: Songs, music and dances between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries over some verses of the Divine Comedy. Through the sounds of old instruments and ancient vocal lines and thanks to the skilful reconstruction of court dances, the sound picture of the musical style of the Dante era is represented in the fascinating context of the Sala dell’Arengo of the monumental complex of the Broletto of Novara.
