What is the European Day of Languages in Hong Kong?
Have you ever wanted to learn a few words in Italian, German, French or another European language — but didn’t know where to start? The European Day of Languages is your chance to dive into the rich tapestry of Europe’s cultures and languages in a fun, informal, and interactive way.
The European Day of Languages in Hong Kong is a vibrant public event where visitors can explore a wide variety of European languages in just one afternoon. At each language booth, participants are invited to join a short 3-minute session where they’ll learn a few useful words or phrases from native or fluent speakers. After each session, they’ll receive a stamp in their personal “European Language Passport.” With five stamps collected in the passport, they can enter an exciting Lucky Draw to win language courses in French, German, and Italian.
Now in its twelfth edition, the event celebrates the European Day of Languages, an annual occasion that promotes language learning and cultural exchange across Europe — and beyond. Foreign language skills don’t just break down barriers: they open doors to new friendships, new cultures, and new professional opportunities.
