The International Lyric Competition S. Francesco di Paola returns to Catanzaro from June 8 to 10, 2025, for its 17th edition after a five-year hiatus. Organized by the Associazione Musicale Orfeo Stillo and the Orchestra del Mediterraneo, the competition aims to highlight and support young opera singers under the age of 35 from around the world, offering them real opportunities for professional growth such as scholarships, masterclasses, artistic writings, and concerts. Recognized by the Calabria Region as a “Historic Cultural Event” and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the event features a distinguished panel of judges and awards prizes totaling €10,000, in addition to special recognitions. The competition will conclude with a gala evening and an awards ceremony, also serving as an important opportunity to promote the Calabria region.
