The Fusion project is concluding with the exhibition Fusion Final from 12 to 27 April at Hong Kong Arts Centre. Launched in 2019 by the Arkad Foundation in Seravezza, Italy, the Fusion artistic-exchange project has been a collaboration with the City of Seravezza and Italian Cultural Institute Hong Kong and is now reaching its final stage.
Ten artist-sculptors participated in the three phases of the project, five from different countries and working in Italy, and five from Hong Kong.
The artists worked remotely, in pairs, one in Italy and one in Hong Kong. Artists working in Italy worked with marble from the Apuan Alps and artists from Hong Kong worked with wood. Then each artist completed his/her partner’s work with the complementary material and the sculptures were shown in several exhibitions, in Italy and Hong Kong.
The exhibition will showcase the works from different phases of the Fusion project, including the eight most recent works made during the Fusion 3 symposium held in Seravezza, at the premises of the Arkad Foundation, in summer 2024. The exhibition brings together for the first time all 36 works created during the project, as well as 10 personal sculptures by the artists.
Meet the Artists event
On the 15 April 2025, the public will have the chance to meet the ten artists and the two curators, during a talk supported by the Italia Cultural Institute and by the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong. The sculptors will present their work, their creative process and the path they walked together to get to the final stage.
The event will conclude with a convivial moment where guests will have the opportunity to taste Italian gastronomic products.

About Arkad Foundation (Italy)
Arkad is a non-profit Foundation, founded in 2002 by Cynthia Sah and Nicolas Bertoux to create an intercultural center designed to promote artistic projects, help artists create works of art, promote and spread culture, especially sculptural artworks, organize professional training, and welcome artists. The Foundation is housed within the structures of the ARTCO Studio, in the historic marble cutting factory adjacent to the Medici Palace of Seravezza, located between the Apuan Alps and the Versilia plain. The purpose of the Foundation is to organize exhibitions and events, assist artists, transmit technical knowledge, encourage the encounter of artistic experiences in the broad field of contemporary art and connect internal activities with the main local and international artistic events.
