The renowned Architect Michele De Lucchi, Testimonial of Design for the Italian Design Day 2025, will host a series of events in Hong Kong to celebrate Italian Design Day 2025. Meetings with students and the public, seminars and conferences will be organized in collaboration with the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Design Centre.
Michele De Lucchi, Testimonial of Design for the Italian Design Day 2025, is one of the most prominent figures on the Italian architecture and contemporary design scene. He is the designer of the world’s best-selling lamp, the Tolomeo from Artemide, which received the Compasso d’Oro award in 1987, the oldest industrial design recognition in the world and the most prestigious Italian design award. De Lucchi has designed furniture for the most renowned Italian and European companies and has realized architectural projects all over the world, comprising cultural, business, industrial and residential buildings. As an architect and designer, De Lucchi has won numerous awards and acknowledgment. In 2008 De Lucchi was nominated Professor at the Design Faculty of the Politecnico of Milan and Member of the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome.
