Programme

Three Floors (120 minutes) – Film Category IIB (Not Suitable for Young Persons and Children)
2 December | 7:30 pm
4 December | 3:30 pm

Three floors, a series of events will radically change the lives of the inhabitants of a Roman apartment building, revealing their difficulties in being parents, siblings, or neighbors, in a world where coexistence seems to be ruled by fear and resentment. While the men are imprisoned by their obstinacy, the women, each in their own way, attempt to mend these fragmented lives to finally and serenely pass on a love that had been thought lost forever.

Pinocchio (125 minutes) – Film Category IIA (Not Suitable for Children)
3 December | 7:20 pm
5 December | 3:20 pm

This film adaptation of one of the most famous Italian fairy tales in the world, enormously respectful of the original, features all the main characters of Collodi’s novel Pinocchio: Geppetto and his wooden puppet, Candlewick, Stromboli, the Blue Fairy, Jiminy Cricket, the Cat and the Fox, up to the Butterman, the Tuna and the Whale.

Rita (60 minutes) – Film Category I (Suitable for All Ages)
4 December | 1:00 pm

Rita is a delightful farce in the best tradition of Italian comic opera. It was written in the last years of Gaetano Donizetti’s life, when he lived in Paris. Donizetti’s music and Gustave Vaëz’s French libretto thus give life to an Italian version of the French opéra-comique. The production of this opera was shot at the Haw Par Mansion in Hong Kong.

Waitress on Top (60 minutes) – Film Category I (Suitable for All Ages)
4 December | 2:15 pm

Waitress on Top is a famous comic interlude by Giovan Battista Pergolesi, composed on a libretto by Gennaro Antonio Federico. The production of this opera was shot at The Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong.
